Queer Activism

Jon Kjaran-

Queer Activism is a group of researchers and community workers dedicated to disseminating knowledge and providing education, with a specific focus on HIV/AIDS, and LGBTIQ+ youth. Furthermore, through research and education we address issues such as discrimination, violence, access to healthcare, legal equality, and social stigma.

Make it stand out

  • Research: Research involves gathering and analyzing information to understand the needs, challenges, and experiences of a particular community. In the context of LGBTQ+ activism, research may involve studying issues such as discrimination, healthcare disparities, mental health challenges, legal barriers, and social stigma faced by LGBTQ+ individuals. This research can help inform advocacy efforts, shape policy recommendations, and guide the development of support services and resources tailored to the needs of the community.

  • Community Building: Community building focuses on creating connections, fostering solidarity, and nurturing a sense of belonging among members of a particular community. In the context of LGBTQ+ activism, community building activities may include organizing social events, support groups, cultural activities, and educational workshops where LGBTQ+ individuals can come together to share experiences, build relationships, and support one another. Community building efforts help combat isolation and alienation, promote resilience, and empower LGBTQ+ individuals to live authentically.

  • Support involves providing assistance, resources, and services to individuals within a community who may be facing challenges or experiencing hardship. In the context of LGBTQ+ activism, support may take various forms, including mental health counseling, crisis intervention, housing assistance, legal advocacy
